RUYC Golf

Royal Ulster Yacht Club run a very popular "Golf Championship" to find the Men and Lady champions each year. This is a very popular event with members and their guests enjoying great golf courses, competition and friendly banter throughout the day. In the evening everyone returns to the club for a meal followed by prizegiving. There are numerous prizes which are played for each year which include nearest the pin, longest drive (men and ladies) best team (3 cards from 4), best guest (men’s and lady) and of course the coveted Man and Lady champion for that year.

The event has been held in Clandeboye, Donaghadee, Helens Bay, Blackwood and, more often, in Bangor Golf Club.

In recent years we have been lucky to have support from generous sponsors, who have helped to make the day so successful. The numbers participating in this event are growing each year as its popularity increases. This is partly down to the support given by the sponsors and the hard work of our club staff helping make this event possible. Our recent sponsors have been Grange Wines, Legacy Wealth Management and currently Ryan Smith has sponsored these championships, through his company "Dunluce Health Care".

The Officers and General Committee encourage all members with an interest in golf to take part. Golfers of every level are welcome, and if you do not have a playing partner, we can place you in a group, so no one feels left out. Those who are relatively new to golf can use this competition to get involved in competitive golf in a safe and friendly environment.
