Golf

Golf.JPGThe annual Club Golf Outing has been going for several years now and is always an extremely sociable day and evening for members and their guests. So far we have played Bangor several times and also battled round Clandeboye, been completely washed off Helens Bay and in 2015, drenched at Donaghadee!

The day itself is very relaxed and we play in teams of four (any combination - and any standard of golf!), counting the best two scores at each hole. There are prizes for the highest team score and the highest scoring lady and gentleman members, plus prizes for visitors.

The RUYC Ladies' Championship Trophy first presented in 2008 and won by Lillian Downie every year since until finally wrested from her in May 2015 by Fiona Hicks with a round of dogged perseverance at Donaghadee.

The golf is organised for a Friday afternoon and followed by a meal and prize giving in the club. This event always proves to be great fun and well supported. New participants are always very welcome.
