Greer is an award winning writer and producer from, Bangor, Northern Ireland. His debut feature film, ‘Butterfly Kisses,’ developed with Film London and Northern Ireland Screen, premiered in 2017 at the Berlin Film Festival where it won the Crystal Bear for Best Film and has gone on to win another ten awards and receive a further twelve nominations internationally.


Greer has also written and directed five short films, playing at festivals worldwide. In 2018 Greer was awarded a place on the BBC’s Writers Room and in 2019 he was commissioned to develop an original series with Two Cities Television (The Fall) through the BBC’s television Drama Writers’ Programme. He has also been commissioned by BBC3 and BBC Sounds for two plays both of which have been produced. 


Greer was selected for The Film London IFF, No Borders Scheme in New York and his next feature film is in post-production. He has also won the CineStory Screen Writing Competition in Los Angeles and has been a finalist in the Sundance Screen Writers Lab. 


Currently Greer is developing a number of original television series with various independent production companies in the UK.


In 2003 Greer co-founded the London based Blue Shadows Films which has produced movies showing at Cannes, Sundance, Berlin and Toronto Film Festivals, starring actors such as Ethan Hawk, Jessica Lange and Shirley MacLaine
