Rory Flannigan

    Rory has been brought up around Royal Ulster Yacht Club; he has volunteered on the Safety Boat and Marklaying Team since 2006, marklaying for various local, regional, national and international events held at both Royal Ulster Yacht Club and at Ballyholme Yacht Club. In 2016 he was a marklayer for the RC44 class at Royal Malta Yacht Club. As well as this Rory has represented Royal Ulster Yacht Club and Northern Ireland on the national and international stage in powerboating. 

    Since November 2025 Rory has been the Honorary Sailing Secretary and is responsible for all activities afloat. Rory's previous committee roles include running Royal Ulster Yacht Club's Safety Boat and Marklaying team where he helped to modernise and revitalise both the boats as well as the team, helping to organise the famous Bangor Regatta and various other major events at the club as well as organising club merchandise. 

    Asides from supporting the club Rory enjoys racing and cruising his Hunter Sonata, Sophia, with his friends and family and taking on fellow club members at the monthly quiz!
