Fiona Hicks

    Fiona Hicks has been a Member of RUYC for over 25 years and is an experienced cruising and racing sailor, having sailed her entire life including local and offshore events both at home and abroad. She has competed in two Round Ireland Races (1986 & 1988) and the ARC in 2005 and has owned a River, J/24, Hunter Delta and RS Elite.

    Fiona has previously served several terms on the General Committee and on Sailing Committee and has over 10 years of experience with Royal Ulster Communications; she was the author of the Spectator column ‘Heresay’ and edited TellTales and Waterlines. She currently sits on the Communications Committee with a focus on supporting the Sailing and Social Committees and social media accounts.

    Fiona held the position of Club Manager between 2000 and 2002 and brings a wealth of experience from other Committee roles outside of Royal Ulster, she has been a member of Strangford Lough Yacht Club since childhood and served on their main committee, she is currently on the RYANI Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Committee.
