Royal Ulster Yacht Club was established in 1866 and boasts an enviable location on an elevated site overlooking Bangor Bay with views to the Co Antrim shore and north and east to the Mull of Kintyre, Arran and Ailsa Craig.

With relatively sheltered waters RUYC runs a full programme of racing each year from Easter right through to October and there are several Cruises in Company to destinations in Ireland and Scotland.

Throughout the year we organise a variety of Social Functions from Club Night Talks to Scottish Dancing, from RYA Training Courses to Festive Dinners and Dances.

The Club welcomes visitors from all round the world including visiting yachtsmen and women moored in the nearby Quay Marinas Bangor Marina.

RNLI Christmas Cards


RNLI Christmas Cards, Diaries and Calendars are still available at Bosun Bob's Chandlery at the corner of Quay Street and High Street, Bangor. Open Mon, Tues, Thurs, Fri 9.30-5.00 and Sat 9.30-4.00.

There's also a great range of yachting clothing and accessories to buy for christmas presents while you're there.

RUYC Burgee Spotted in Cape Town


"A visit to Royal Cape YC as part of the Volvo Ocean Race stopover 2017. We had a look for the burgee presented to RCYC by RUYC during the Whitbread RYWR in 1985....found it!"

Vendee2020Vision Length of Britain Challenge


Huge congratulations to the team as they crossed the virtual line off John O'Groats to set a new Length of Britain Challenge record of 2d 14h 6m 41s, they have taken 21h 44m off the previous record. #vendee2020vision

RUYC member Mikey Ferguson (Skipper and Boat Captain of Artemis) along with Andrew Baker from Quoile YC along with Lizzie Foreman and Jack Trigger are on their way to challenge the Length of Britain record.
